Job Description
Locum4Nurses is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to work in Newport Pagnell.
This role offers a strong mix of autonomy and team support, ideal for a confident NP who enjoys minor illness, same-day demand and clear pathways that keep clinics running smoothly.
Flexible sessions available with options to build a regular weekly pattern.

Role Snapshot
• Minor illness clinics and urgent presentations with clear escalation routes.
• Face-to-face and telephone appointments depending on service need.
• Opportunity for ongoing sessions for the right clinician.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage minor illness presentations and provide evidence-based treatment.
• Undertake clinical examinations and formulate management plans with safety-netting.
• Prescribe where qualified and within agreed scope and local guidelines.
• Request and interpret investigations, actioning results appropriately.
• Escalate complex cases to the GP team and refer onwards when indicated.
• Maintain accurate patient records and appropriate clinical coding.
• Support wider service delivery by working collaboratively with the MDT.
Requirements
• NMC registration with Nurse Practitioner level experience in primary care.
• Independent Prescriber qualification where required for the booking scope.
• Confident autonomous practice with strong triage and risk assessment skills.
• Up-to-date safeguarding and mandatory training.
• Experience using UK primary care clinical systems and documentation standards.
• Right to work in the UK and completion of compliance checks.
Working Pattern
• Up to 2 days per week available, with flexibility on which days you cover.
• Options for ad-hoc shifts or a regular weekly arrangement.
• Session types can be agreed in advance to match your preference.
