Job Description
Locum4Nurses is looking for a General Practitioner to work in Abronhill.
This is a well-paced GP opportunity with flexible sessions, consistent support and the chance to pick up dependable work in a primary care environment that values safe clinical practice and good continuity.
Flexible sessions available with options to build a regular weekly pattern.
A sessional GP role focused on quality consultations and timely access.
Role Snapshot
• Routine and on-the-day appointments with clear admin expectations.
• Balanced clinical mix with straightforward escalation and internal pathways.
• Supportive MDT working alongside nursing and admin teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality GP consultations and clinical decision-making.
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic presentations in primary care.
• Prescribe appropriately and safely in line with local and national guidance.
• Review results, action tasks and complete follow-up as agreed for the sessions worked.
• Refer to secondary care and community services when clinically appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure appropriate coding.
• Contribute to safe working practices and clinical governance requirements.
Requirements
• GMC registration with a licence to practise and inclusion on the GP Register.
• Recent UK primary care experience with confidence in autonomous sessions.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding and professional obligations in general practice.
• Strong communication skills and an efficient, patient-centred consultation style.
• Evidence of compliance documentation required for locum work.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
Working Pattern
• Up to 4 days per week available, with flexibility on session length and days.
• Options for regular weekly bookings or short-term gaps cover.
• A mix of morning, afternoon or full-day sessions depending on your availability.
