Job Description
Locum4Nurses is looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioners to support a high-performing GP practice in Weymouth.
The practice is set up to help clinicians work effectively, with clear triage processes, well-defined clinical pathways and dependable administrative support. You will be working alongside experienced clinicians in a collaborative environment, with sensible expectations, strong governance and access to advice when needed to support safe autonomous practice.
Up to 4 days a week available with flexibility around sessions.
Role Snapshot
• ACP primary care sessions combining autonomous assessment and supported decision-making within a structured practice model.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage undifferentiated presentations, developing safe management plans.
• Request and interpret investigations and arrange timely referrals as appropriate.
• Prescribe and manage medicines within competence and service requirements.
• Provide clear safety-netting, follow-up plans and patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation, coding and high clinical record standards.
• Work collaboratively with the MDT to support patient flow and service delivery.
Requirements
• Relevant professional registration and advanced clinical practice qualification.
• Recent experience in a primary care or urgent care setting with autonomous clinics.
• Independent prescribing qualification where required for the role profile.
• Strong clinical reasoning and risk management with appropriate escalation practices.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, governance and confidentiality requirements.
Working Pattern
• Temporary sessions available up to 4 days per week.
• Flexible selection of days and session lengths to suit availability.
• Potential for ongoing bookings depending on service demand.
