Job Description
Locum4Nurses is looking for Nurse Practitioners to join a busy and well-supported GP practice in Thetford.
This role suits a confident clinician who values structured support, consistent processes and a team that works well together. The practice has clear protocols, responsive admin colleagues and sensible appointment planning, allowing you to deliver safe minor illness care and support service demand without unnecessary friction.
Up to 3 days a week available with flexible session options.
Role Snapshot
• Primary care NP sessions with a focus on minor illness, triage support and high-quality patient advice.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage minor illness presentations and provide evidence-based treatment.
• Request, interpret and act on investigations within scope of practice.
• Provide health advice, self-care guidance and safety-netting for patients.
• Support same-day demand through triage and timely clinical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate records, coding and clinical documentation.
• Escalate complex cases appropriately and liaise with the wider MDT.
Requirements
• NMC registration with experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in UK primary care.
• Independent prescribing qualification preferred where applicable to the role.
• Confidence managing acute presentations and working within agreed protocols.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, infection control and governance standards.
• Clear communication and a calm, organised approach to workload.
Working Pattern
• Part-time sessions available up to 3 days per week.
• Flexible mix of mornings, afternoons or full days by agreement.
• Ongoing bookings available for the right clinician and service fit.
